James was born in Seatle, Washington. He had a normal childhood, his father was a dentist and his mother a secretary in a law firm. They lived in a low, poor class neighborhood but that made them close. James loved his family. His father and mother always taught him and his siblings that everyone was equal, no matter if you had money or not. So James grew up in that way, thinking that people was worthy due their hearts and minds, not their money.
When he was 12 he saw one of his neighbors acting very weird, the old man hated children and always got James and his siblings into troubles, but that day the old man acted gently at him. He gave him a basket-ball that he had lost like a month before that day in the elder’s yard and then told him he would like to talk to his father. James didn’t know what to do, so he ran into his house. He didn’t really notice the silver glow in the elder’s eyes due the glasses. James told his father about the old man. His father thought it was just another nag about something James or his siblings did, so he went to talk to him. 10 minutes later he came back and told them the old man wanted to invite them all for dinner, so he agreed, the dinner would be a week after that day. James didn’t like the idea but he agreed too.
They went to the old man’s house for dinner as they promised, but nothing would ever be like before. He got late to that dinner, he was finishing an essay to hand in, when he finished it he walked to his neighbor’s house, but there he saw how some people were attacking his family, they seemed to be common people, but they weren’t. He ran into the house and hit with a stick one of the men inside, but when the man looked at him, he saw the silver glow in his eyes.
When the man was about to grab James, his brother stopped him, he hit the man with a chair on the head. His brother was injured, seemed to have a slight cut in the back of his neck, but still he saved him and ran with him outside. James yelled to him that they needed to save their parents, but his brother told him all of them were dead. They hid among some bushes in their house for a couple of seconds, then they went to their rooms and got their saved money and some food, then they ran away. He was 12 and his brother was 15.
They ran and hide, the tried to call an aunt they had, Natally Evans. But they never found her. When James was 15, his brother and him were trying to steal some food from a house when they got caught, they didn’t know it was the house of a seeker. James’s brother told him to run away while he stopped the parasite, James wanted to stay and fight together his brother knew he couldn’t be able to change James mind, so they ran together, but the seeker had a gun and he used it. He shot some times, although James felt a sharp pain on his right shoulder, he kept running and they flew away.
Some blocks away, James noticed his brother wasn’t running as always, he looked back and saw blood staining his shirt, but it was coming from the stomach. His brother died on his arms a couple of minutes after that. He dragged his body to a park and there he cremated his body. Then he ran away again. A year after that he was stealing food from the back of a store and a tall man with blue sapphire eyes saw him, he was human, his name was Ian O’Shea. He told him about a place where he could live in peace. He also told him about rebel souls, and made him promise he wouldn’t hurt the souls, well as long as the worms didn’t mess with him he wouldn’t mess with them.
Since then, he’s living in the caves, he goes on raids from time to time, but he had never enjoyed doing so. He enjoys living in the caves.
He was born in Seoul, Korea. The first born in a big family, he's got 2 younger brothers and 3 younger sisters. When he was 10 they moved to US. His life has been normal. They moved to Chicago, there he met who is his best friend, Luke McKinnon and Liza O'Shea.
He had never been a straight A student, but he was good at school. He had always been interested on sports, specially basketball but also into music. He's got into music club as soon as he got into high school, also into drama club and the basketball team. He's almost always getting hurt, in fights or in the games, he plays roughly, but he's an excellent player.
He's always in troubles, because he's a hot head and when he's with Luke it doesn't help, because both of them are the same! When he knew that Liza was sick, Luke and him went to a party only to get into a fight and let some steam off.
Several girls have a crush on him, but he hasn't fallen for any of them, there hasn't been the one he really thinks is the one for him. He speaks fluent Korean, English and a bit of Japanese.
